Let's Bring Kate Home

Can you help us find Kate Waring?

She was last seen on Friday, June 12, 2009 wearing dark blue denim shorts, a brown t-shirt and white Adidas tennis shoes.

“The Friends of Kate Waring” is offering $25,000 to any person who plays a significant role in providing information that leads to the location of Kate. The distribution of the reward will be at the sole discretion of CrimeStoppers, an organization that keeps crime tips confidential.

The final hours before Kate’s disappearance seemed normal enough. She went to her doctor in West Ashley at 3pm, then to her gym, West Ashley Aerobics and Fitness at 6pm. From there she went to the CVS pharmacy on George Street downtown and was captured on surveillance video that you can watch here. Finally, she went to dinner at Wasabi's Restaurant on State Street downtown before reportedly being taken home downtown around midnight. But 3 days later, someone tried to cash a $4500 check from Kate and didn't go through. That person has since been interviewed by police.

Kate is 28 years old, 5’10”, 128 lbs, with red hair and blue eyes.

The family asks that anyone who has any information regarding their daughter that will lead to having Kate located should contact CrimeStoppers at 843-554-1111 • 800-222-8477.

The Greenville News reported that Kate received threatening text messages the day she disappeared. Did the police interview the texter or do they know who sent those messages?

I don't know Kate personally, but became aware of this case through my son. I have been praying for her safe return, she is so young. I am glad to hear that the police are trying to find her. I live near Greenville and feel like there is not much I can do here, but I am keeping my eyes and ears open. I am sure the family is torn apart and I pray for them also.

To Kate's family,
I have been trying to keep informed about the case of your daughter and sister. I am a spinning instructor at WAAF and have thought so much about Kate. I have a daughter who is 19 and I can't imagine the hurt, heartache, and worry that ya'll are going through. I admire you all for your willingness to speak out and stay positive. Laura, subs my class once a month and I try to keep abreast of how the search is going. I hope Kate comes home soon and please if there is anything I can do to help please ask Laura to get in touch with me and I will give it my all. You are all in my thoughts and prayer.

My heart aches for the Waring Family. I have not seen Kate for over 20 years and she grew up to be a beautiful lady like her Mom. I was the Administrator at Mr. Waring's former law firm, Holmes & Thomson. I wish there were something I could do to bring Kate home. My prayers are constant. Jane G.
